Hey! I'm Rebeca.
Here is a bit about my journey, how I write code, and where I'm headed next.
I'm a software engineer focused on backend systems, cloud architecture, and building platforms that scale. Most of my day is spent writing Node.js and TypeScript, working on AWS, and thinking about how to keep services fast, reliable, and easy to maintain.
🤖 My AI Workflow
- I use tools like Cursor in my daily routine to speed up development, tackle tedious refactoring, and catch bugs early.
- For my own projects — like Rebs Tech Studio and rpgworldapp.com — I use Antigravity to manage code contexts and spin up full-stack systems quickly.
📈 Metrics & Design
I don't like guessing if code works in production. I set up dashboards and automated alerts using Datadog, New Relic, and Sentry so we have real data to guide decisions. I default to SOLID principles and Clean Architecture because it makes everyone's life easier in the long run.
🚀 Scaling & Mentorship
I have experience migrating old, complex monoliths into modular services and serverless setups. I am comfortable acting as a Tech Lead—guiding guilds and leading initiatives—but I still love being in the editor, writing tests, and shipping features end-to-end. I enjoy sharing what I learn and helping my teammates grow.
The journey // mapped
??? Who knows. Honestly, just excited to see what we build next.
I moved back to SJC because my parents move around even more than I do, and somehow they ended up here. After about 6 years of living away, I'm finally back to enjoying those classic Sunday family dinners and also now with a big group of friends playing RPG and a lot of boardgames with friends.
Returned to São Paulo and stepped into Tech Lead and Lead Engineer roles. It was an intense mix of coding, guiding team dynamics, planning high-level architecture, and fighting performance fires to handle high-traffic loads.
When the pandemic hit, I transitioned to fully remote work and split my time between Jacareí and São José dos Campos. This was also when I adopted my cats, Chilli and Pepper—they've been my mandatory QA assistants ever since.
Moved to São Paulo to officially kick off my professional software engineering journey. It was a fast-paced environment that taught me a ton about writing scalable, reliable code under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
Moved to Minas Gerais to get my Computer Engineering degree at FACIT. I started out deep into hardware, robotics, and 3D printing before realizing that building software was where I truly wanted to spend my life.

I spent my childhood and teenage years in Acre, right on the banks of the Juruá River. This is where my curiosity for tech actually started, fueled entirely by gaming and early social media networks.

We lived in Manaus for two years. I didn't even know what a hot dog was back then... Mom says that one day someone invited me over to eat them, and I panicked and said, 'I don't eat dogs!'
After leaving the tribe, we returned to Porto Velho for a year. That was the year my brother was born, and it was my very first taste of town life, transitioning between completely different worlds.
I spent my early childhood living in a Dení indigenous village deep in the Amazon. No roads, no internet, and very limited access to electricity. A completely unique way to start life.

Where the log begins. Born in the capital of Rondônia, I spent my first 6 months there before my missionary parents packed up everything to head deep into the Amazon rainforest.
